    Product Description

Acesulfame potassium, also known as acesulfame K (K stands for potassium), is a calorie-free sugar substitute (artificial sweetener) commonly marketed under brand names such as Sunett and Sweet One. In the European Union, its E code (additive code) is E950.

Acesulfame potassium is 200 times sweeter than sucrose (regular sugar), comparable to aspartame, about two-thirds the sweetness of saccharin, and one-third the sweetness of sucralose. Like saccharin, it has a slightly bitter taste, especially at high concentrations. Kraft Foods has patented the use of sodium ferulate to mask the bitterness of acesulfame. Acesulfame potassium is often used in combination with other sweeteners, typically sucralose or aspartame.

Acesulfame K is widely used in beverages, baking and other fields.Food industry:

Beverages: carbonated drinks, juices, teas, etc. (alone or in combination with aspartame and sucralose).

Baked goods: high temperature resistant, used for cakes, biscuits, etc.

    Success Application cases

    • Classic example: It forms a “golden partnership” with aspartame and is used in most mainstream sugar-free carbonated beverages (such as the sugar-free series of Coca-Cola/Pepsi), tea beverages, and functional beverages.
    • Taste optimization needs: When used alone to achieve high sweetness, some sensitive consumers may notice a slight bitter aftertaste or metallic taste, which affects the purity of the taste.
